57 WINE HOUSES WILL PRESENT THE BEST OF OFFICIAL WINE FOR EXPO 2015

Franciacorta will participate in the Vinitaly 39th edition, present to the fair will be the winery’s companies, collaborating with that same dedication which allowed Franciacorta to establish itself as representative of high quality wine and area, a little less than 50 years ago.

There will be a total of 57 wine cellars present at Vinitaly – 43 wine cellars will be inside the Palaexpo Regione Lombardio, the remaining 14 will be at the external pavillions – the many italian and forgein operators who visit this fair will have a chance to participate in the “Franciacorta experience” created by the wineries.

“Vinitaly represents an important international event before the start of Expo Milano 2015, to which Franciacorta is the Official Sparkling Wine. The fair, in Verona, will give this company a chance to create new relationships with clients, inform wine enthusiasts about our wine and our personnel about news and projects we are developing. Most of all, it will give us a opportunity to present important events in which we will participate in Milan and in Franciacorta during these next six months of Universal Exposition” – says Maurizio Zanella, Chairman of Franciacorta Consortium – “This is a series of activities which allow visitors to get to know our wine and area, to stimulate turism in Franciacorta and promote this land full of history, traditions and excellent food.”

2014 ended on a positive note for Franciacorta with +10% than 2013. Franciacorta sold 15.475.977 bottles, 1.428.993 of which were sold abroad. Still today the foreign market represents 9,2% and has increased of 12,8% since 2013.

Good results have also been seen in Italy, sales increased 9,7%. There’s also been an increase in average sales price. The main foreign market is confirmed by Japan, with receives 20% of the exportation and USA, which represents around 13%. In Europe Switzerland distinguishes itself representing an increased percentage up to 40%, due to specific promotional activities started 4 years ago.
